Fantastic, authentic Mexican restaurant that's very close to Tenutas. Service was fast, and the food was authentic. Lots of choices of meat that aren't all seen in other place like chicharron, lengua, and carne seca. Glad to see the option to seat yourself and to pay upfront at your own leisure, this saves you time during a limited lunch period. I highly recommend adding this place to your list of authentic Mexican joints in Kenosha

Construction of the surrounding building is finished now, but Tacos El Norte has been open the whole time! Food and service are always great. The prices are pretty good too.

Stopped by after seeing they were still open on a later week night. We were very pleased. Individual tacos were amply filled with tasty ingredients. Chips and salsa were also good. Had the chicken enchilada plate with red sauce, beans, and rice. All well-filled and flavorful. The booths were clean and the atmosphere was pleasant. We'll come back.

Inside the restaurant the entire interior is a hand painted mural or beautiful scenery! The Horchata is to die for! I had a carné asada burrito and my girl had the enchiladas! We were stuffed and still had leftovers for lunch the following day! Most definitely recommend Tacos El Norte if you love authentic Mexican cuisine!

First visit - been a fan of El Norte for a couple of decades, been to the Mundelein, Highwood, Waukegan, Gurnee, and Lake Bluff locations over the many years. We ordered the standard three taco (steak) dinner ($11.99), and I ordered ground beef tacos ($2.25 each) and a steak tostada ($4.99). Prices cannot be beat!! The starting salsa was flavorless, the chips seem to be out of a bag. The guacamole was creamy and delicious ($6.99). The refried beans were excellent. My wife loves the rice. The red sauce had a nice kick to it. The tacos and tostada were fabulous. I’d go back if in the area, but also would like try other local joints.

This is our Kenosha go-to for authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price. It has never disappointed my family. Some favorites include traditional carne asada tacos with onion and cilantro as well as ground beef tamales with ranchero sauce.

Tacos el norte kenosha is soooo good. Been coming here for decades and stop in whenever I’m in Kenosha. Super clean, fast service, fast kitchen. Friendly staff. Food is always tasty and the right temperature. Good portions. Flexible on special requests. I had a Torta dinner ( adds beans and rice) with mix of steak and chorizo. Give them a try and you won’t be disappointed.
